The 4th APPEAL Seminar
APPEAL 4-04
Date and Time: 16:00-17:00, Jan. 28th, 2004.
Place: Auditorium on the first floor of Main Building, SPring-8
Speaker: Dr. M. Fujiwara (RCNP/JAERI)
Title: Parity Non-Conservation Measurements: Greenfield of Physics Developments with photon beam at SPring-8
Abstract: Parity invariance plays an important role in understanding deeper insight of the origin of matter. The origin of parity non-conservation (PNC) processes in nuclei is the coupling between neutral weak boson and meson created, for example, by the quark antiquark pair in nuclear medium that is not well understood yet. After reviewing the PNC experiments in the past, we will discuss the possibilities of precise measurement of PNC matrix elements using circular polarized photon-beams at SPring-8.
