For all users
The research achievements at SPring-8 are reported primarily at academic conferences and published in academic journals. The Public Relations Office assists researchers with releasing their achievements to news media.
When a press release is made, research accomplishments are widely disseminated to the general public, because they are often reported in newspapers. Press releases are made either by oral presentation at a press club or the distribution of documents to the media. Holding a press conference requires much effort, because you must be present at the conference, prepare documents for the presentation, and respond to questions from reporters. However, since the impact on the reporters is large, the amount of coverage tends to be greater than the effect of only distributing documents.
The Public Relations Office advises researchers regarding the format of press releases (a presentation or the distribution of documents) and liaises between research departments and press clubs. If you wish to present your achievements, please contact us. Please also inform us if you wish to present your achievements to the press without going through JASRI.
The achievements released are presented on the “Press Releases & Special Topics” section of the SPring-8 website in chronological order.
