SPring-8, the large synchrotron radiation facility

All of us at SPring-8 extend our heartfelt sympathy to the victims of the March 11 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.

Thanks to the warm support of the Japanese people, SPring-8, as the world’s largest synchrotron radiation facility, has been able to contribute to a wide range of research programs of both universities and industries, in both the basic and applied sciences.

While the assistance and support we can offer at this time is limited, please be assured that everyone at SPring-8 will be working as one to do all we can as a public institution to serve the Japanese people in this time of great need.
