| Abstract |
Since the first meeting was held at ESRF, Grenoble, back in 1994, the Three-Way Meeting has been functioning as a collaborative framework for solving a variety of challenges that the third generation synchrotron radiation facilities had to confront so far. Meanwhile, several workshops were born from the meeting, and later grown up at a larger scale. Having recognized that the future plan formulated by each original member, i.e., ESRF, APS, SPring-8, has begun to be discussed beyond the framework of the three-way meeting, however, it seems appropriate to redefine now the direction of the meeting. This time, the meeting will consist of plenary sessions of Status Report and Science Highlights addressed by each facility, and of sessions of Data Policy, Automation beyond Protein Crystallography, and Future Detector Strategy, which could be major issues for synchrotron radiation facilities near future. Afterward, the meeting will have a dedicated session to discuss and determine a future direction of the three-way meeting.
