SPring-8 Users Community (SPRUC) Logo Competition
The SPring-8 Users Community (SPRUC) was created in April 2012, taking over the functions of the former SPring-8 Users Society. We are now looking for a brand new logo we can use for the front page of the SPRUC Website, events hosted by the SPRUC and publications released by the SPRUC. Therefore, we will run a competition to design a logo for the SPRUC as detailed below.
[Terms and Conditions]
  1.  Entries should have a design friendly to SPRUC members and should serve the objectives of the user organization activities of the specific synchrotron radiation facility.

  2. All entries must be the original work of the entrant, not previously published elsewhere.

  3. Your logo must be distinctive and not confusingly similar to the one that has been used by another organization, copyrighted works, or any other existing work.

  4. Colors and techniques should not matter, but your logo should look good even in black and white without losing any quality or detail.

  5. Make sure that your logo can be scaled to any size.

  6. Your logo must include the word(s)/logotype ”SPRUC” or “SPring-8 Users Community.”

  7. Please take into consideration that your logo and logotype may be used separately.

  8. Entry to the competition is open not only to SPRUC members but also to non-members. There is no limit to the number of entries any one person can submit.

  9.  All rights to the winning entry remain the property of the SPRUC.

  10. Entries will not be returned. Unsuccessful entries will be discarded.

  11. We will only ever use personal details for the purposes of administering this competition. The winner’s name, however, will be made public to announce the selection results.

  12. By entering, entrants will be deemed to have agreed that we may touch up/edit the winning entry in any way we may consider necessary for the purposes of use as our logo.
[How to Enter]
  Please send your entry in JPG or PDF format (file size limit: 3MB) and completed PDF entry form as email attachments to the SPRUC Secretariat at users@spring8.or.jp.
 Any costs incurred for entry must be borne by the entrant.
[Entry Period]
  From May 21 through July 20, 2012.　Closed
Submissions received after this time will not be considered.
(The closing time may be extended depending on the number of entries received.)
[Review Process]
  The SPRUC Councilors will review all entries. The winner will be contacted by the SPRUC Secretariat immediately after the review process. The winner will receive ￥10,000, and the runner-up will receive ￥5,000.
