XAFS

　The XAFS measurement system of BL22XU is set up in the Experimental Hatch 3 of the Radioisotope (RI) Laboratory Building at SPring-8, and is aimed at analyzing the structure and clarifying the chemical state speciation of RI and/or actinoid materials. Using high flux X-ray at SPring-8, it is possible to measure low concentration and trace amount samples. The XAFS measurement system supports both transmission and fluorescence methods. In addition, it is also available for low temperature experiment with a cryostat system and high temperature experiment with electric furnace. The XAFS measurement is possible in the energy range of 5 to 70 keV by using a cam type spectrometer equipped with a crystal switching mechanism.
