Title: Outlook for Active Use of SPring-8 is Soft Matter Dynamics

Abstract:
A real-time observation and a basic technology of the high resolution imaging of SPring-8 such as CT have reached in these several years at a constant level. And, the needs have risen in an animal, a living body specimen, and industrial materials such as the meteorite, the metal, rubber, concretes, and fine polymers and applied fields.
Especially, the concern of the company shows the symptom rising every year. However, it doesn't lead to the excavation of enough needs mainly because the basic technology has been established to the instrumentation technology development in SPring-8.
The workshop where the directionality of new user-friendly applied imaging beam line construction was discussed was held in Tokyo to promote further application research use on Wednesday, July 30.
Prof. Masao Doi who invited it as a panelist in the workshop is a worldwide authority in the research of the rheological phenomenon of flow, the transformation, and the mass diffusion etc. of a soft matter. He has achieved a lot of famous results in the research that combines the experiment, the theory, and the simulation. And, he has high expectations of the imaging of SPring-8 and the utility of the scattered diffraction experiment.
