Overview of Research Group, Goals and Purposes:

X rays with significant temporal and spatial coherence have enabled us to to perform experiments using this coherence with the appearance of 3rd-generation synchrotron light sources, and the necessary measurement techniques and analysis methods have been developed at a fast pace. Therefore, the wide use of coherence by general users in the field of materials science has become likely. However, the sharing of the information about the outcomes and the techniques of using coherent x rays has been insufficient to date.
@This group will aim to be a platform for realizing research concepts toward beamline upgrades in parallel with the SPring-8 upgrade by sharing information about outcomes and the techniques of using coherent x rays. This group will also aim to play a major part in the next generation of materials science, by clarifying the correlation between global and local properties through the measurements of (dynamic and static) higher-order structures such as magnetic and/or polar domains, skyrmions, and by visualizing phases in matters aquiring macroscopic quantum states by spatial topology/symmetry.
@This group plans to contribute to the state-of-the-art materials science in SPring-8, by upgrading materials science, cooperating with research fields using the coherent x rays, finding demands/possibilities of developing a new research field using a new utilization technology of the synchrotron radiation. The activity of this group will be promoted in cooperation with other userfs groups, the relevant academic societies, organizations and meetings.
