As high-pressure measurements are increasingly conducted at many beamlines for synchrotron radiation experiments such as diffraction, scattering, spectroscopy, and imaging, the sharing of the latest research results and technical information is becoming important among users involved in high-pressure research.
This working group promotes interaction among the members and potential users through the sharing of research results and technical information. It also provides oppotunities for discussion on cutting-edge science in synchrotron high-pressure research and for collecting opinions on future beamline upgrades. These activities will carried out while organically coordinating with other SPRUC working groups and related academic societies associated with high-pressure science and materials science. In the 8th term, considering the shutdown for the SPring-8-II upgrade, we will focus on the scientific directions that high-pressure materials science should pursue at SPring-8 in the near future, while closely monitoring global trends in synchrotron-based measurements under high pressure. We will also propose to the facility strategies for beamline upgrades aimed at realizing these goals.
