Overview of Research Group, Goals and Purposes

such as high spatial resolution imaging including ptychography, phase contrast techniques for high-contrast resolution imaging, x-ray fluorescence imaging for element distribution analysis, time-resolved imaging and four-dimensional CT for dynamics studies, and high-energy X-ray imaging. Through these efforts, we will create an environment in which young researchers who will lead the future of X-ray imaging field can grow and thrive, and also contribute to promoting industry-academia collaboration. The scope of our activity is as follows:

  1. Investigation of the requirements related to X-ray imaging at SPring-8/SACLA/NanoTerasu In order to prepare for the upgrade to SPring-8-II, we will investigate the future of X-ray imaging field, such as various imaging methods including multi-modal imaging and operando measurement, development of data analysis strategies, and effective facilities for conducting imaging experiments.
  2. Propose upgrades or restructuring of x-ray imaging beamlines: Our group will consolidate user-side requests on the basis of members' experiences of x-ray imaging experiments, and propose possible plans for experimental station upgrade, beamline restructuring including the construction of public imaging beamlines at NanoTerasu, data processing facility, HPC equipment, and staff assignment.
  3. Activity to recruit potential users of x-ray imaging: We will disseminate information regarding x-ray imaging studies by introducing our best practices at conferences and meetings. We also pursue improvements of the cafeteria, convenience store, and lodging in order to lower the barriers for new users.
