Overview of Research Group, Goals and Purposes:
High-energy synchrotron x-rays have enabled non-destructive, inside observations of materials and products at SPring-8 and SACLA. Using their high-brilliance and high-flux charateristics, operando observations are also progressing. Needs for advanced synchrotron x-ray techniques are increasing in research and development of electrochemical devices, such as a battery. Under this circumstance, this research group promotes the utilization and development of high-energy synchrotron x-ray imaging technqiues and then aims to construct a research base for non-destructive analysis of materials and products, mainly of batteries.
@The anticipated techniques include large field-of-view x-ray imaging and CT, high resolution x-ray imaging and CT, x-ray diffraction imaging, x-ray scattering imaging, related techniques for battery safety test, and others.
@This research group sets up a secretary board and promotes industry-academia -government collaboration, as well as collaboration with computer science. Although the primary focus is on batteries, the research target will be extended to others.
@The group activities include organizing a workshop, proposing an upgrade of experimental stations, proposing a user need for x-ray imaging techniques, organizing a group for fund-raisng toward upgrading experimental stations, and others.
