講演要旨
The detector development group of the Paul Scherrer Institute are working on two single photon counting detector systems:
The microstrip MYTHEN and the pixel PILATUS detector. The first one has been intensively used at BL04SA of the SLS. It covers 60 deg with an angular resolution of 0.004 deg. With a readout time of 0.25 s this detector is very well suited for time resolved experiments. Further development is heading towards an improved commercially available system. One microstrip module is currently being studied at SPring-8.
The status of the PILATUS project is the completion of the PILATUS1M detector. This detector represents today the larges pixel detector for synchrotron radiation. It consists of 1000x1000 pixels, covering 21x24 cm2.
Tests at BL06SA (SLS) showed that the detector can soon be used for protein crystallography in conventional or fine-phi sliced mode. For the next detector - PILATUS6M - the readout chip is redesigned in 0.25 µm technology.
This increases the dynamic range, spacial resolution and count rate of the detector. It will cover a four times larger area than its forerunner.
As there is also need for small pixel detectors, several PILATUS SMD detector have been build (8x3.5 cm2). One is permanently installed at BL04SA of the SLS and one is also available at SPring-8.
