Title: Advancing Synchrotron Science with DECTRIS Hybrid Photon Counting Detectors

Abstract:
Unlocking the potential of synchrotron and laboratory X-ray experiments largely relies on continuous detector development. The direct goals of the development were to enhance the data quality as well as the speed at which it can be collected. But more importantly, novel detector technology has the potential to transform X-ray science by enabling innovative applications. This led to a legacy of detector technologies, such as scintillation counters, proportional counters, imaging plates, flat panels, and complementary metal-oxide semiconductor active pixel detectors. Hybrid Photon Counting (HPC) technology (Brönnimann & Trüb, 2016) was added to this list at the beginning of the 21st century. Ever since, HPC detectors have been impacting almost all X-ray applications at synchrotrons and in laboratories (Förster et al., 2019).
The presentation will introduce the current DECTRIS X-ray detector portfolio and will give a glimpse of future products for synchrotron science and electron microscopy.
