ABSTRACT
This beamline is designed for the experiments by means of nuclear resonant scattering, resonant inelastic X-ray scattering, x-ray emission spectroscopy, surface X-ray diffraction, and coherent X-ray diffraction imaging. Nuclear resonant scattering is available in the experimental hutch 1. High-precision and versatile goniometers on a vibration-proof table are installed for Mössbauer microspectroscopy and nuclear resonant inelastic scattering. The experimental hutch 2 is dedicated to resonant inelastic X-ray scattering and X-ray emission spectroscopy. Energy resolution of the spectrometer is 0.1-1 eV. The experimental hutch 3 is equipped with an X-ray diffractometer connected with a molecular-beam-epitaxy chamber. This instrument is designed for in situ studies on wide bandgap semiconductor semiconductor surfaces and applied for (i) surface crystallography under molecular beam epitaxy conditions and (ii) studies on growth dynamics. Experimental Hutch 4 enables non-destructive 3D imaging of the internal structures of nanocrystals using the Bragg coherent X-ray diffraction imaging technique. Furthermore, a measurement system capable of high-speed data acquisition required for deriving atomic pair distribution functions has been established, enabling the evaluation of deviations from the average crystal structure as well as local structural features.
