Facility Management
The Facility Management Division plans and carries out operation, maintenance and security / remodeling for the management of SPring-8 facilities.
As for the management of industrial waste and specially controlled industrial waste, the Division disposes of all the industrial waste generated at SPring-8 in compliance with the law.
In addition, the Division aims at the safe and efficient use of utilities (electric facilities, power supply facilities, air-conditioning facilities, water supply and drainage facilities, cold-heat-source facilities, Experimental Drainage Treatment Facility), facilities for Linear and Synchrotron (power supply, precision temperature control and synchrotron cooling facility), Storage Ring machine cooling facilities (front-end cooling facility), and RIKEN facilities (Structural Biology, Synchrotron Radiation Physics Facility, etc.). For this purpose, the Division has established a management organization composed of experts for the operation and maintenance of each facility, to enable accurate communication of instructions and proper administration to maintain the facilities in good condition at all times and for smooth operations.
