Abstract

The Fourth International Workshop on X-ray Damage to Biological Crystalline Samples will be held at SPring8, Harima, Japan on March 7th and 8th, 2006.
The main purpose of the workshop will be open discussion of the topics about X-ray Damage to Biological Crystalline Samples.

Topics under discussion will include:
(a) Experiences from electron microscopy
(b) Relevant radiation chemistry
(c) beam heating; modeling and verification,
(d) dose/dose rate effects and limits to sample life,
(e) specific sensitivity of particular crystals/heavy atoms to damage,
(f) improved software for dealing with radiation damage,
(g) the utilization of radiation damage for biological studies,
(h) Radiation biology of whole cell.
