Abstract

Synchrotron Radiation in Polymer Science III (SRPS3) will be held at SPring-8, Hyogo, Japan in 6-8 July 2006 as a satellite meeting of The International Conference on Small Angle Scattering XIII (in July 9-13, 2006 in Kyoto). This conference series continues from the second meeting in Sheffield in 2002, and the first one in Hamburg was organized by the late Professor Zachmann in 1995.

The missions of SRPS3 are to discuss roles of synchrotron radiation measurement technique in polymer science. The meeting covers topics concerning synchrotron radiation measurement technique such as small-angle X-ray scattering, wide-angle X-ray diffraction, X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray imaging, as well as nano-technology application. Advanced measurement technique for investigation of kinetics and structure-property relationship of polymer, such as in-situ measurement, DSC simultaneous measurement, WAXD-SAXS simultaneous measurement, rapid time-resolved measurement etc. are also being covered.  Researchers and engineers working on those fields are welcome to the meeting.

Topics
•Instrumentation, Novel Methods for Measurement and Testing
•Identification (including Forensic Identification), Structural Analyses, and Properties Evaluation by WAXS, SAXS, Ultra-SAXS, Infrared Spectroscopy, XAFS etc.
•Phase Transition (including crystallization and gelation) - Thermodynamics - Kinetics - Under Tension - Under Flow - Under Hydrostatic Pressure - Under Electric or Magnetic Field
•Imaging Technique
•Surface and Interface, Grazing-Incidence X-ray Diffraction, Grazing-Incidence SAXS, X-ray Reflectivity,
•Industrial Applications - Fiber Spinning - Mechanical Drawing and Processing - Degradation, Yielding and Fatigue - Thermal Annealing - Physical Ageing - Crosslinking - Swelling Process - Coagulation Process - Melt Processing - Solidification Process - Drying Process (Evaporation Process) etc
